Sandvik has launched the Ranger DXR series of drill rigs for surface drilling in challenging geological conditions.

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology's two Sandvik Ranger DXR drill rig models feature a remote rock drill and no operator's cabin (to more safely tackle the most demanding tasks in construction and quarrying projects).

The Ranger DX600R and DX800R series of drilling rigs are developed on the basis of the DX600 and DX800 rigs.

The Ranger DX600R and DX800R are capable of operating in areas previously inaccessible to other rigs. Featuring a lighter and more mobile design, the DXR machines retain the performance characteristics of the DX series, including the drilling area, which varies from 17.6 m2 to 26.4 m2 depending on the version. Ranger DXRs are therefore suitable for use in hazardous environments where remote control is required to achieve high levels of safety and productivity.

Ranger DXR rigs deliver consistent results on fragile benches and slopes found in demanding applications such as road and rail construction, pile drilling, trenching and highway construction.

In most cases it is impossible to cope without remote control, thanks to which the operator can choose the optimal installation location in terms of visibility and safety. The remote control is also equipped with a roll-out control function for the ability to quickly move between wells and accurately mark them.

The rotating body provides unrivaled drilling area and stability even in difficult terrain thanks to the counterweight system.

In terms of productivity, the Ranger DXR is a true workhorse, allowing up to 60% more holes to be drilled per cycle compared to traditional drilling rigs. Combined with powerful rock drills and the Rock Pilot+ control system, the Ranger DXR Series models provide the highest productivity of any non-cab drilling rig.

Sandvik Ranger DXR drill rigs are designed to drill holes from 65mm to 127mm using 38mm to 51mm drill rods.

The standard package can be expanded with 30 useful options, including a housing with an increased rotation angle, advanced measuring systems and an upgraded dust collector.

An additional option is Noise Guard - a strong and durable casing that can reduce the noise level during operation of the installation by 10 dB, especially when it comes to participating in procurement with strict restrictions on noise levels.
