Light low-sulfur oil
Oil formation is a staged, long-term process of oil formation from organic matter of sedimentary rocks (remains of ancient living organisms), according to the dominant biogenic (organic) theory of the origin of oil. This process takes tens and hundreds of millions of years[30]. In the 20th century, the hypothesis of the abiogenic origin of oil from inorganic matter at great depths under conditions of enormous pressure and high temperatures had some popularity, especially in the USSR, but the overwhelming majority of evidence testifies in favor of the biogenic theory[31]. Abiogenic hypotheses did not allow making effective predictions for the discovery of new deposits[32].
