Perlite sand (Expanded perlite sand M50) Expanded perlite is a free-flowing, porous, loose, lightweight, durable material. Fire resistant: application temperature - from minus 200 to 900°C. It has heat and sound insulating properties, high absorbency: it can absorb liquids up to 400% of its own weight. Biologically stable: not subject to decomposition and rotting under the influence of microorganisms, not a favorable environment for insects and rodents. Chemically inert: neutral to the action of alkalis and weak acids. Perlite is an environmentally friendly and sterile material, non-toxic, and does not contain heavy metals. Due to its unique properties, expanded perlite has found wide application in construction. A low bulk density of 100 kg/m3 allows the use of perlite for the manufacture of thermal insulation materials with good acoustic properties. Plaster mortars using expanded perlite sand are used as effective insulation, and 3 cm of such mortar can replace 15 cm of brick. The plaster is applied to brick, concrete, slag concrete, metal mesh, wood and can be painted or wallpapered without any additional work. It can be used to insulate both heated and unheated rooms.
