An electric planer is a hand-held or stationary woodworking power tool for planing. Adjustment is carried out using a handle or button with divisions that allow you to set parameters with high accuracy (steps from 1 mm). To chamfer the edge of the workpiece, rounded grooves are made on the sole, and to select a quarter on the surface of the wood, various side stops are supplied to the plane. The main characteristics of the tool are: the power of its engine, the rotation speed of the drum (shaft) with blades, as well as the width and depth of planing. Other characteristics when choosing a power tool: - processing depth; - drum diameter; - the accuracy with which the cutting depth of the tool is set; - mechanism for quick replacement of cutting knives; - the material from which the tool sole is made; - quality of surface treatment of the sole. Those wishing to purchase a tool must first make a choice of the electric plane that will be necessary to perform the most frequently performed work. The price of an electric planer consists of several parameters, the main ones being: power, number of revolutions of the working shaft, as well as productivity (width and depth of cut).
