OSP-1 self-activating powder fire extinguisher
Self-acting powder fire extinguisher (OSP) is designed to extinguish fires of solid and liquid substances and fires in energized electrical equipment without human intervention in small warehouses, technological rooms, utility rooms, garages, etc., in the absence of people. OSB is used instead of portable fire extinguishers or in addition to them. OSB does not extinguish fires of alkali and alkaline earth metals and substances that burn without air access. OSB is a sealed glass case filled with fire extinguishing powder and a gas-forming agent. When a fire occurs and the gas generator is heated to 100°C (OSP-1)**, or 145°C (OSP-1.5), or 200°C (OSP-2), it decomposes with large gas release, the pressure in the housing increases exponentially , which leads to its destruction and pulsed release of fire extinguishing powder. Safety measures. It is prohibited: - to operate OSB with cracks in the housing; - install and store OSB near heat sources with temperatures above +50°C. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on OSB during storage and operation is not allowed. The zone of possible scattering of fragments when triggered is up to 4 m. Extinguishing a fire in the area where the OSB is placed before it is triggered is carried out by other means, from a distance of at least 4 meters from it. When extinguishing a fire before the OSB is activated, work with it is carried out after the temperature has dropped to room temperature, but not earlier than after 2 hours.
