Primer and Primer
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE OF PRIMERS The primer is transported in steel barrels, and the concentrate is transported in metal or polymer containers by all types of covered transport, observing fire safety measures. It is allowed to transport the primer in road or railway tanks in accordance with GOST 1510-76. The primer should be stored in closed, unheated rooms or under a canopy, at an ambient temperature not lower than minus 40 and not higher than plus 50 ° C. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Approximate Primer consumption for bitumen coatings is 80-100 g/m2. The primer should be applied to the surface of the pipeline, cleaned of corrosion products, scale, dirt, oil stains, soot, dust, and marking paint. The surface should not have sharp protrusions, burrs, scuffs, metal splashes, or slag. The presence of moisture in the form of drops, ice, or frost is not allowed. The surface should be dry, with a characteristic gray color. The primer is applied to the surface of the pipe, as a rule, with special insulating primer machines in one pass. The applied layer must be even, without gaps, smudges, clots, or bubbles. To ensure uniform distribution of the primer, it is recommended to install a rotating towel on the insulation machine. The temperature of the primer during application should be between +10 and +30 °C. In winter, to maintain the primer in the specified temperature range, it is necessary to use flameless heating. To prepare a primer of normalized viscosity, it is necessary to dilute the concentrate with gasoline in the ratio: 1:0.5 (by weight) or 1:0.7 (by volume), taking into account the density of gasoline (0.70-0.75 g/cm3). The SIS LLC company supplies primers for insulation of steel pipes from stock and upon order from a warehouse in St. Petersburg or with delivery to the customer’s site in the shortest possible time and at a competitive price.
