Alkyd paint Temalac FD 50 (Temalac FD 50) RAL Tikkurila
A quick-drying, one-component, semi-gloss alkyd finishing paint containing anti-corrosion pigments. Semi-gloss finish paint used in alkyd systems for steel surfaces. • Has excellent gloss and color fastness when exposed to weather conditions. • Recommended especially for use on high-speed painting lines. • Can be applied by electrostatic spray. • Recommended for painting steel frame and support structures and various machines and equipment. • Thanks to the anti-corrosion pigments, it is also suitable for use in single-layer paint systems. Surface preparation Remove mechanical impurities, salts, lubricants and oil in an appropriate manner. (ISO 12944-4) Steel surfaces: Blasting to Sa2 ½ (SFS-ISO 8501-1) If blast cleaning is not possible, it is recommended to phosphate the cold rolled steel surface to improve adhesion. Primed surfaces: Remove waterborne salts, grease, oil and other contaminants that may impair painting. Eliminate defects in the primer. Take into account the intercoat exposure of the primer used. When applying and curing the paint, the temperature of the ambient air, the surface to be painted and the paint should not fall below +5ºC / 41ºF. Relative humidity should not exceed 80%. The temperature of the steel surface should be at least 3ºC/38ºF above the air dew point. Applying paint with airless spray. Mix the paint thoroughly before use. When applied by airless spray, the paint can be thinned 5-15%. Airless spray nozzle diameter 0.011"-0.015"; pressure 120-180 bar, spray angle is selected depending on the shape of the structure to be painted.
