Solvent R-5 (10 l canister)
Solvent R-5 is a transparent or yellowish liquid without suspensions or sediments, with a pungent odor. The solvent contains butyl acetate, acetone and toluene in a ratio of 15:15:20. Also, water is allowed in the composition of R-5 - the mass fraction of water according to Fischer should not be more than 0.7%, the acid number - 0.07 mg KOH/g. When diluting paintwork materials, the solvent should be added gradually, in portions, stirring the paint or enamel until smooth. Since the liquid is toxic, both storage and use of the solvent is possible only in well-ventilated areas; alternatively, you can use the solvent outside. It is worth considering that the flash point of R-5 is less than +23°C, so smoking, heaters or direct sunlight are not allowed in areas where the drug is stored or used. As the solvent evaporates, it spreads along the ground in a gaseous state. When P-5 interacts with strong oxidizing agents, chloroform and bromoform, explosive compounds are formed, which can lead to fire or explosion. If P-5 gets on the mucous membrane of the eyes or respiratory tract, it is necessary to wash off the solvent with water; when using this composition, hands must be protected with PPE; if it gets on the skin, the solvent is washed off with warm running water and soap.
