Caprolon (Polyamide PA-6)
Caprolon (polyamide PA-6) is a multifunctional polymer material for structural and antifriction purposes. Not subject to corrosion, environmentally friendly, resistant to carbohydrates, oils, alcohols, ketones, ethers, alkalis and weak acids. Dissolves in cresols, phenols, concentrates, mineral acids, formic and acetic acids. Caprolon has high strength, performance and dielectric properties, has a low coefficient of friction, and can be easily processed by milling, turning, drilling, and grinding. Caprolon is 6-7 times lighter than bronze and steel, instead of which it is used. Products made from caprolon ensure reliable and silent operation of devices and mechanisms, reduce wear of friction pairs by 1.5-2 times, increasing their service life. Caprolon is supplied in the form of sheets, plates, rods, circles, bushings. Caprolon is used for the manufacture of rollers, pulleys (traction force up to 30 tons), gears, guides, plain bearings, sprockets, augers, sealing parts and cuffs for high-pressure systems (up to 500 atm), housings, brackets, wheels for trolleys.
