Process control system of a flare unit of an oil refinery
The automated process control system provides: automatic control of fuel gas supply; automatic cascade control of steam supply according to a schedule depending on the flare gas flow rate to ensure smokeless combustion; automatic control of flare line tightness; technological interlocks and emergency protection of equipment and installations; constant analysis of the presence of hydrocarbon vapors in the air throughout the entire installation area. Ignition and control of the installation equipment are possible both automatically from the operator’s workstation and from the local control panel. The KRUG company carries out the following work: development of design documentation for the control cabinet; assembly and configuration of the control cabinet; development of protection and blocking algorithms; engineering, installation supervision and commissioning; integration with the process control system of the main installation of the coking complex based on Honeywell equipment and software. The controller, workstations (combined with database servers) and communication lines are made with 100% “hot” redundancy to increase the reliability and survivability of the complex and the automated process control system as a whole.
