Oil seals | Reinforced cuffs | GOST 8752-79
Oil seals (reinforced cuffs) are molded seals that are used to seal the rod (shaft, spindle, piston). Depending on where and in what equipment a particular oil seal will be used, they differ in design. GOST 8752-79 In Russia there is GOST 8752-79 “Reinforced rubber cuffs for shafts”. They are divided into 2 types: single-edged; single-edge with boot. Cuffs (oil seals) of the first type (single-edged without anther) are designed to prevent leakage of the sealed medium. This could be oil or other lubricating fluid. Seals (seals) of the second type (single-edge with boot) are used not only to prevent leakage of the sealed medium, but also to protect against the penetration of dust into the sealed medium. We supply different types of oil seals, according to international standards, including identical oil seals according to GOST 8752-79, but we have different molds. This is the advantage of working with us, since the range of standard sizes is much larger and the choice is richer. You can compare the shapes and types of oil seals by reading our catalogs, which you can access using the links located at the very beginning of the section. If you compare the drawings, you will see the difference. Our oil seals are not so massive (they are more accurate in execution and our factory uses higher quality rubber compounds). The reinforced layer inside reaches almost to the very top of the inner wall of the seal, which gives it more hardness, which means the seal will hold tighter and last longer. For clarity: 1. Oil seals GOST 8752-79: 2. Oil seals: Types of oil seals Our plant produces oil seals (reinforced cuffs) from different rubber compounds, depending on the environment in which it will be used, the operating pressure and the required temperature resistance of the material. 1. For example, NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) seals can work and come into contact with mineral oils, gasoline, diesel fuel and water. 2. FKM/FPM oil seals, which are resistant to oxidizing agents, solvents, various oils and other chemicals. The advantage of FKM oil seals is the ability to operate at high temperatures up to +200C, while the maximum operating temperature of NBR oil seals is +100C.
